Pamfilova told about attempts of ex-felons to qualify for the members of election commissions

The desire of people with criminal records in electoral commissions is becoming a dangerous trend. So they are trying to help “related criminal activities” friends to participate in the elections, said the head of Russia’s Central election Commission (CEC), Ella Pamfilova. “As members of the electoral commissions themselves — there is a tendency and desire to break into the commissions in different level of people with questionable criminal “tails”, then, having the right [of members of election commissions] to their loved ones from criminal activities, their counterparts,” — said Pamfilova.

According to the head of the CEC, it is a “very dangerous trend” and could lead to a “very negative consequences”. She noted that in the Russian interior Ministry provide information to prevent individuals with criminal records to work in the election commissions of different levels.
