Journalist and video blogger Yuri Dude in the third time became the winner of the award of magazine GQ “man of the year”, reported on the website edition.
Duda acknowledged the main face of Russian YouTube. He received the prize in the nomination “Face screen” for his work as a Director of documentary films. In 2019, the Dude has produced several documentaries, in particular, the film “Beslan” the 15-year anniversary of the tragedy at the school in North Ossetia. In three days he gained almost 9.5 million hits. In April 2019, the Dude has released three-hour documentary film “Kolyma — the birthplace of our fear”, dedicated to the victims of Stalinist repression. Both projects caused a public outcry.
During the ceremony the Dude from the stage of the Moscow state Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky made a speech in which he asked the audience and participants of the event not to be silent about political issues in Russia.
“I have a request. When in Russia the next time will be a Blizzard the next passers-by with batons when they steal the next car of public money, when they tossed a new pack of paper in the ballot box, I ask you to talk about it, and not be silent,” said the Dude.
According to him, “silence has ceased to be a saving Bank,” and “if you are silent, that does not mean that you are in the house.” “You can come in any house, even if the house is located on Rublevo-Uspensky highway,” — said the journalist.
Dude was the winner of the award for the third time. The first prize of GQ he received as a sports journalist.
