Prisoners of the Moscow jail “Butyrka” contained in one of the abandoned towers because of overcrowding in the prison. About it reported a press-the Secretary of capital management of the Federal penitentiary service Sergey Tsygankov, reports the Agency “Moscow”.
According to him, in “Butyrka” is a lot more prisoners than provided for. “At present, the number contained in the investigative isolator of citizens exceeds the actual limit content companies,” said Tsygankov.
In addition, the arrested has to move to other premises, since the building, built in 1771, is constantly undergoing renovations, said the representative of the FSIN.
Earlier September 11 in the Public monitoring Commission reported that in one of the towers of “Butyrka”, which was previously considered abandoned, contained two prisoners. In the chamber, which found detainees with an area of approximately four square meters with a bunk bed and outdoor toilet with no seat.
On the territory of “Butyrki” there are four ancient towers. In one of them, which was signed by Emelyan Pugachev, now a Museum, the other three were closed a few years ago.
