The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed the law on cancellation of parliamentary immunity. This information is published on the website of the President.
The law will come into force on 1 January 2020.
Earlier it became known that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka intends to demand from the Verkhovna Rada of removal of immunity of several MPs before the entry into force of the law. The Prosecutor said that he has “no experience” according to the deputies of the new Parliament, but soon to be expected as a development of the old criminal cases and opening new ones. Answering a question of journalists, he did not rule out that among the disgraced deputies will be former President, Petro Poroshenko.
September 3, the Verkhovna Rada approved the second reading of the bill on removal of inviolability from deputies. For changes to the Constitution voted by 373 parliamentarians.
