During the week the Ministry will discuss the possibility of introducing a shorter working week in test mode at 266 enterprises of small and medium-sized businesses from 30 regions of Russia. The specific parameters for the introduction of shortened weeks yet. “The enterprises (…) the staff of 30-40 percent of the time doing nothing. Our goal is not to reduce the working day, and that they could be making it useful,” explained Zaselsky.
According to him, the testing of changes within many companies due to the need to obtain statistics with a qualitative sample. “A conclusion about how you need to reduce the working day or not, get up after testing these methods on a very large number of enterprises”, — said Deputy Minister of economic development.
Earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the current labour legislation does not correspond to the current level of labour relations. “You can build a work schedule that the person is busy, for example, four days a week or, conversely, a smaller number of hours each day to work,” he said.

Currently, 76 percent of employers in Russia do not consider the possibility of switching to four-day week. They believe that after this will fall labor productivity will increase overtime and reduce employee morale.
