Scammers sent out to users of the network threat e-mails containing the virus. As reported by BleepingComputer, messages are disguised as applications to work.
The sender of letters is a kind of Eva Richter Eva (Richter), send your photos and resume. The latter disguised as a PDF inside the. zip archive, but actually is a dangerous executable file. The letter is hidden malicious software Ordinypt Wiper, which encrypts files on the victim’s computer and then demands from the user a ransom for them.
According to reports the victims, the fraudsters require almost 0,15 bitcoin (more than 1.5 thousand dollars). Experts have warned that the payment amount does not guarantee decoding: typically, the files are overwritten again. Threat campaign began on 11 September 2019 and is aimed primarily at the residents of Germany.
Earlier it became known about the new virus, named Joker. He was hiding in legitimate applications on Android. Trojan collected data on the device and also copied the messages and contacts of users.
