Russian striker Alexander Kokorin has signed a contract with Petersburg “Zenith”. This was announced by the lawyer of football player Yury Padalko, reports TASS.
According to Padalko, Kokorin has signed a new agreement with Zenit the day before release. Thus, the 28-year-old striker returned to the camp blue-white-blue. The previous agreement between the club and the player have expired June 30.
Previously, on 17 September Kokorin and another player Pavel Mamaev was released from prison in the Belgorod region. Both athletes ignored the communication with journalists.
Kokorin and Mamaev used their right to parole. September 6, Alekseevskiy district court court of Belgorod region has satisfied the petition of the players.
Both athletes were in the colony from the 4th of July. They were convicted for participating in two brawls in the center of Moscow in the fall of 2018. Since October of the same year, Kokorin and Mamaev were detained. Their arrest has been repeatedly extended: they stayed in jail until the execution of the sentence.
The last time the striker took the field in structure “Zenith” on 7 October 2018. Then the St. Petersburg club took home the “Krasnodar”. The meeting ended with the victory of the blue-white-blue with the score 2:1.
