Russian Governor wanted to raise salaries to officials

In the Kaliningrad regional Duma introduced a bill to increase the salaries of local officials. This initiative was made by the Governor of the region Anton Alikhanov. The bill published on the website of the regional Duma.

“The draft law provides for the reduction of salaries and wages for the rank of the state civil servants of the Kaliningrad region in accordance with the salary level applicable in 2019, and increase their size by 6 per cent from October 1, 2019”, — stated in the document.

In addition, the salary of first Deputy Prime Minister is proposed to increase by 14.7 per cent, the salaries of the heads of agencies and services by 22 percent.

Earlier Alikhanov stated that he tried to give a bribe of two million euros (146,6 million), which he refused. Who and why tried to bribe the head of the region was not specified.

In August the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said about the need to increase wages in all territorial bodies of Federal departments. The corresponding statement he made during a meeting with acting Governor of TRANS-Baikal region Alexander Osipov. On the level of wages Osipova asked himself the President, also noted that salaries in the territorial divisions of Federal authorities is often lower than in the regional bodies.
