Former CIA and national security Agency USA Edward Snowden in his book told about the FSB attempt to recruit him, reports RIA Novosti.
Snowden said that in 2013 his arrival in Russia was brought to a private room in the airport Sheremetyevo and tried to offer to work for Russian intelligence services. He States that it is not given to the employee to finish the sentence, killing his refusal, that the record could not subsequently use, in order to hurt him.
Earlier in September, it was reported that the U.S. justice Department has filed a lawsuit against Snowden, who has not agreed to the publication of the memoirs with the government. The Ministry said that a former employee of the intelligence divulged secret information in its publication, thus violating the agreement. The sales of the book increased considerably.
In 2013, Snowden gave the journalists of The Guardian and The Washington Post documents that talked about the program of us intelligence surveillance as U.S. citizens and people outside the country. He fled the country and, in parallel, requested political asylum from several dozen countries, including in Russia. In 2014, he received permission to stay in Russia for three years and then extended for the same period.
In the US, Snowden regarded the illegal transfer of information of importance to national security, the deliberate transfer of intelligence information and theft of state property. In total, he faces up to 30 years in prison.
