In Nizhny Novgorod surgeons regional children’s hospital have successfully removed three neurogenic tumor (tumor of nervous tissue) the size of a fist. About it reported in a press-service of the regional Governor, reports NIA “Nizhny Novgorod”.
The disease in girls revealed six months ago, because of the tumor she could not talk and breathe. She also appeared headaches and muscular hypotonia, the child gained weight. The study of the brain of the child has shown changes in the white matter, and on palpation the abdomen was determined with tumor of the retroperitoneal space “solid structures and sizes.”
As explained by the surgeons, neurogenic tumor had a toxic effect on the center of the brain. Because of this, the child had respiratory paralysis. Head of the Oncology Department of children’s regional hospital Lyudmila Privalov noted that respiratory disorders neurogenic tumors — a rare case which has not previously been described in the literature. She added that the tumor was benign and a girl ready to be discharged.
It is noted that doctors gave the girl a laparoscopic procedure in which doctors work with a small incisions. The complexity of the work lay in the fact that the tumor was located on the abdominal aorta. The operation lasted about two and a half hours.
On September 17 it became known that 38-the summer inhabitant of Kaliningrad has removed a brain tumor the size of an orange. It developed about 15 years, but made itself felt only recently. The operation was carried out in three stages, the last one lasted 12 hours.
