No “reputational risk” of the Ural state economic University (USUE) for a student’s participation in LGBT communities in the case of this situation on the level of the European court of human rights (ECHR) in the Kremlin have not seen. This was stated press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reports “Interfax” on Thursday, September 19.
According to him, the Kremlin is not aware of the conflict between the student and the University administration. In this regard, Peskov advised “to contact the subject directly to a higher education institution or the Ministry of education”.
Earlier, the rector of the USUE in social work Roman Krasnov said that the University has no plans to expel the student, which involves the community in the social network that supports the LGBT community. He noted that the issue of expulsion of a student will be made only if it is bad to learn, and added that initially, with the student were talking about the dismissal.
The rector of the University Yakov Silin, in turn, considered the popularization of the fact of a student’s participation in LGBT communities in social networks. “Promotion is that it extends, confirms that he is a student. He thus, with my point of view, shows how a example of what this should be. I believe that this should not be. Personally the fact it is not supposed to be attached to the University,” he said.
On 18 September it became known that the Ural state University have created a special monitoring service of the moral character of students, which also monitors sexual orientation of students. One of the students was under threat of expulsion from the entry into the LGBT community in the social network. According to the student Vice-rector allegedly said that he “spoils the name of the Institute”.
