Indian authorities have approved a ban on electronic cigarettes in the country. The decision was published in Twitter a press-the Secretary of the government.
According to Hindustan Times, the prohibition applies to production, import, export, transportation, storage and advertising associated with electronic cigarettes. The Minister of Finance and corporations in India Nirmala Sitaraman indicated that soon the government will issue a decree, which shall send to the President for approval.
Sitaraman stressed that no Indian company does not produce the electronic cigarette, and the country submitted hundreds of such products. Violation of the ban will be punished with imprisonment for the term from one year to three years. “This is a welcome step. Prevention is always better,” — stated the Minister of information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar
