Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will not go to jail due to “political and other services”, which he provided to the Western countries, occupying the post of the head of state. This opinion was expressed in his Twitter account the Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov, commenting on the statement by Poroshenko about the fact that the current Ukrainian authorities will not be able to send him to jail.
According to Pushkov, the former President has received from Western countries, “Charter”, and the current head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky already warned about it.
“For the same reason, still has not put Saakashvili [former Governor of the Odessa region and ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili],” said the Russian Senator.
Earlier in September Poroshenko in the interview expressed confidence that the current leadership of the country will not be able to put him behind bars. The former President said that he and his political force “anyone or anything” not afraid, and noted that he has enough mechanisms to protect.
Petro Poroshenko is involved in 13 criminal cases. In three of them he was held as a witness. The former President is suspected of attempt of usurpation of judicial power, treason, legalized offshore laundering and other crimes. The official announcement while he had not been charged.
