Press Secretary of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Konstantin Vybornov rejected the rumors about the possible removal of Russia from the Olympics in Tokyo, which will be held in 2020. His words are quoted “R-Sport”.
Vybornov stated that journalists were not substantial grounds for such conclusions. “This is standard practice, written by our favorite German journalist. We’re not doing it, and certainly never to comment on that,” he said.
Earlier on September 22, British The Telegraph reported that Russia is facing a suspension from participation in the Games in Tokyo because of the manipulation of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, which had been provided to experts from the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).
Also about the possible manipulation claimed German journalist, Hyo Seppelt, who specializiruetsya on investigations of systematic violations of doping rules.
It is planned that WADA would report on the results of the study data obtained from the Russian side, the meeting of the Executive Committee of the organization, which will be held in Tokyo on September 23. The meeting will discuss possible suspension of accreditation of the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA).
In July the WADA experts have studied the database of the Moscow laboratory and built the list of 298 Russian athletes suspected of violating anti-doping rules. The names of the athletes was not reported.
Data transmission laboratory was one of the conditions for maintaining the status of RUSADA, which was reinstated in September 2018.
