The Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu said that Kiev and Moscow will live in peace and good neighborliness. He declared it in interview to the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
The question is whether the probability of a direct military confrontation between Ukraine and Russia, the defense Minister replied that doesn’t even want to think about it. Shoigu also voiced hope that the Ukrainian leadership will be able to stop the extremists, calling for a military March on Moscow.
“I hope that the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian government have the will, strength and the ability to cool those hot heads who are calling for such nonsense, and crazy plot. Once extremists in Ukraine will still have to stop. It is a pity that this has not been done before,” he said.
Shoigu called the fraternal Ukrainian people and said that his relatives on the mother comes from Ukraine, and he was baptized in one of the temples in Luhansk region. “I am absolutely convinced that with the Ukrainian people, we will live in peace and good neighborliness. The time for this, I am sure, will come,” added the Minister.
Earlier on September 22, Shoigu said that the faith of the United States in their own military superiority, which may lead them to unreasonable steps is the main threat for Russia and other countries. In his opinion, every state must be aware of their vulnerability and to be interested in maintaining the balance of universal and equal security.
