China is skeptical about the chances to conclude a full agreement with US, which could put an end to a trade war, and so be ready for a partial deal, writes Bloomberg.
According to the Agency, the main purpose of Beijing now is to minimize damage to its own economy. An acceptable result will be freezing the U.S. duties at the current level and the refusal of the President of the United States Donald trump from the new, including those that are scheduled for October and December.
In return, China is ready to make some concessions, which the source Agency calls “non-core”. One of them should be to increase purchases of American agricultural products.
Earlier it became known that China had agreed to buy 1.5 times more than soybeans from the US — 30 million tons a year instead of 20 million. Beijing also agreed to mitigate non-tariff restrictions on the supply of American meat.
A new round of talks between the US and China will be held 10-11 October in Washington. The parties still seek to conclude a comprehensive agreement, but observers say that is unlikely.
