Poroshenko offered the “formula of the Ukrainian world” in the Donbass

The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has proposed to implement the Kiev developed the “formula of the Ukrainian world” to resolve the conflict in the Donbass, containing seven steps. He wrote about this in his Twitter.

According to him, the implementation of the proposed formula, the country must insist on the principles of “security first”, “nothing is agreed until everything is agreed” and “over security for elections”. He added that “the formula Steinmeier” should be considered only as a component of the road map for the implementation of the Minsk agreements. According to Poroshenko, breeding forces in the Donbas must be held only if a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire.

“Russia and the militants should return to two and a half thousand kilometers, it is a direct requirement of Minsk,” — wrote politician. The ex-President expressed confidence that the OSCE monitoring mission will get unhindered access to the whole not controlled Kiev territory to monitor the Russian-Ukrainian border. In addition, in the framework of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, he proposed to establish a sub-group on border issues. Poroshenko also advises the Ukrainian authorities to insist on the deployment of a multinational UN peacekeeping force in the Donbass.

The politician added that Kiev needs to restore the region taxation “in the legal field of Ukraine”, the financial and banking system, as well as the return of Ukrainian property. “Only this will give reason and opportunity to fully restore social security to the region”, — said Poroshenko.

Kiev and the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk national Republic signed the “formula Steinmeier” 1 Oct. Document defines a mechanism for legislative recognition for the special status of Donbass through local elections, and also contains provisions on a possible Amnesty. According to the agreement, the legitimacy of the elections will have to confirm the OSCE. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier that the elections will not be held “at gunpoint”.
