The US government could allow some American companies to cooperate with Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei to supply it with components and technologies, writes The New York Times.
According to the newspaper, the decision was made personally by President Donald trump. With this as justification, he cited the words of unnamed experts. What technology and products of American companies will be able to pass the Huawei, the President also did not elaborate. We only know that they should not affect the national security of the United States.
Huawei came under US sanctions in may, when the company and dozens of associated structures was included in the black list. The reason were suspected of collecting users ‘ personal data and transfer them to Chinese intelligence services.
The sanctions prohibit cooperation with Huawei to all companies registered in the United States or leading their activities. In case of violation of all constraints will be propagated to them. In particular, because of this, Huawei was threatened with losing access to the Android operating system for all their new devices.
Later Washington repeatedly eased restrictions and granted the Chinese company a deferral. The head of Huawei Ren Zhengfei has estimated the potential damage from sanctions of $ 100 billion.
