An airstrike by the Turkish armed forces came to the prison to contain the militants “Islamic state” (ISIS, a terrorist organization banned in Russia). Representatives of the armed opposition believe that this was done intentionally to harm the Kurdish forces in the region, according to Al-Masdar News.

“One of the prisons, which hold prisoners from ISIS, have been Turkish air strikes. Turkey is trying to ruin all our achievements in the fight against IG”, — quotes the edition the statement of Democratic forces of Syria (DSS, the Union of Kurdish and Arab groups). Its representatives insist that the prison did aim specifically to release the militants.

Earlier it was reported that the Turkish army clashed with Kurdish DSS in the North of Syria. The shelling took place in the Syrian city of tel Abyad and Kobani. According to recent reports, killed at least 11 people.

On 9 October, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of military operations in Syria against the PKK and the organization “Islamic state”. It goes together with the formation of “Syrian free army”. The operation was called “the Source of peace”. The first intensive attacks were made in the province of Hasaka.
