The CIS countries need to mobilize intelligence for the relief of the threat of the arrival of militants from Syria after the beginning of military operation of Turkey, said President Vladimir Putin. It was quoted by RIA Novosti on Friday, October 11.
The Russian leader questioned the ability of the Turkish army to hold back the militants of the banned terrorist organization “Islamic state”.
“According to the main intelligence Directorate of the General staff of Russia, there [in Northern Syria] hundreds of fighters… It’s real for us a threat,” — said Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Council of CIS heads of state.
He noted that the terrorists can move through Iran, and then through the other countries in the region.
