Libya risks becoming the main base of terrorists in North Africa and a source of contagion to other countries. This was stated by Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the meeting of heads of special services, security agencies and law enforcement bodies of the States-partners of FSB in Sochi, reports RIA Novosti.
“The continuing violent confrontation between the Libyan parties has led to the fact that the country is a security vacuum in which they raise the head of the terrorist group, to shrink the militants from Iraq and Syria”, — quotes Agency the words of the diplomat.
In Libya in 2011, civil war began, was overthrown and killed who ruled the country since 1969, by Muammar Gaddafi. As a result the country was in a situation of dual power: on the East, in the city of Tobruk, seat of the Parliament, and in the West, in Tripoli — the national consensus government.
