Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk called on the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Estonia Urmas Reinsalu strengthen the response to the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. On Monday, November 4, reported on the website of the government of Ukraine.
“It is important that member States of the EU explained to his citizens the negative consequences of the “Nord stream-2″ for Europe’s energy security,” — said Goncharuk.
In turn, Reinsalu called the counter-pipeline is important and stressed the need for coordinated action to achieve this goal.
November 1, the Verkhovna Rada Deputy from the party “European solidarity” Alexey Goncharenko said that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in the last days of October made the main failure, allowing Denmark to approve the construction of the “Nord stream-2”. According to the Deputy, Ukraine will suffer huge losses after a mistake of the President, as it will lose Russian gas transit.
Moscow and Kiev have not yet agreed on terms for the continuation of transit gas, the action of the current agreement will expire on 31 December 2019. Russian President Vladimir Putin in early October said that Moscow is ready to sign a contract with Ukraine for gas, if it is up to the end of the year implementeret European legislation.
Prior to that “Gazprom” has made the refusal of transit of gas through Ukraine in 2020 in favor of fuel supplies to Europe via other routes. In particular, they talked about the gas pipeline “Nord stream-2”, which is planned to run until the end of 2019. However, the refusal of Denmark to agree to Russia’s request for the passage of the offshore section of the pipeline has set the terms of his surrender in question.
Permit the passage of the offshore section of the pipeline on the territory of Denmark was received on October 30. Up to this point the country for two and a half years refused to issue a permit for the construction of the pipeline. Because of this, the Russian authorities allowed the postponement of the original date of the launch of “Nord stream-2”, but officially this was not reported.
