Kazakhstan civil servants are going to return the possibility of using smartphones in the workplace. This was announced by Deputy Minister for digital development, innovation and aerospace industry Ablaikhan Ospanov, “Interfax-Kazakhstan”.
“According to my information, this resolution is already in the walls of the government in the near future we will hear about it. All authorized state agencies agreed, then it is submitted to a meeting of the government,” the official said. He added that the draft resolution will be considered later this month.

Ospanov said that this order came from the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. “Any civil servant responsible for the information that he receives in his work. For the distribution he will be responsible in accordance with the law,” he said.
In March 2016 civil servants in Kazakhstan banned the use of smartphones in the workplace. Instead, the government was allowed to use “push-button” phones without cameras and Internet access. Introduction of the measure was due to the authorities of the country the frequent facts of leak of sensitive information.
