The Ministry of construction is considering the possibility of increasing the age limit of the young couple, claiming the improvement of housing conditions at the state’s expense, reports TASS with reference to the letter of the Ministry addressed to the head of the Federation Council Committee on economic policy Andrey Kutepov.
The threshold may be shifted from 35 to 40 years. According to the Agency, Kutepov had previously sent the Ministry a letter describing the problem of obtaining housing benefits to young families. In it, in particular, it was said that up to 80 percent of the participants of the respective programmes are excluded from the queue for social benefits, because the waiting time to reach 35 years.
In response, the Department indicated that the age threshold could be increased only in case, if the increased funding of the program of assistance to young families. If additional funding is not to provide the number of participants will increase, and waiting periods of social benefits because of this, again, will increase, said the Ministry of construction.
In July 2019, the reported young family Konchenyj from Perm, aged in the queue for housing under the state program “Young family”. The couple waited for the apartment for 11 years, after which they were excluded from the lists due to reaching the age limit stipulated in the program.
