Law enforcement officers established the identities of all 39 dead people of Vietnam, whose bodies were found in a truck in English Essex. This was reported on the website of the police of the County.
Law enforcement officials stressed that their priority was to establish the identity of the victims, to preserve the respect for the dead and to support the friends and families of the victims.
Among the dead were three teenagers aged 15 to 17 years. The oldest victim was 44 years old. Of the 39 persons, 8 women, 31 men. Most of them come from the Vietnamese provinces of Nghe an and ha Tinh.
On 7 November it became known that all victims — citizens of Vietnam. Relatives gave the police a DNA sample to help the investigation. Police arrested eight suspects in the case. One of them lived for some time in Russia and, allegedly helped illegal migrants to get to Europe through Russian territory.
