Banned terrorist group “Islamic state” (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the border post in Tajikistan, which took place on 6 November. This was reported on the portal SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors terrorist activity online.
Earlier, the Ministry of internal Affairs of Tajikistan has established the nationality of the militants. According to them, most of the attackers come from the Sughd region in Northern Tajikistan. Clarifies that among the militants were women.
The attack occurred on the night of 6 November. An armed group of 20 militants of the “Islamic state” attacked a frontier post on the border of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. According to official data, the aim of the terrorists was to Outpost No. 4 “Ichabod” group “Sultanabad” 60 kilometers West of Dushanbe.
As a result of military operations 15 militants were killed and five others arrested. Killed soldiers of the border troops and one policeman. In connection with the attack in Tajikistan strengthened security measures. The investigation into the attack has been specially created joint group, which included employees of the interior Ministry, national security Committee and the Prosecutor General of the Republic.
