British counterintelligence (MI-5) had a secret operation to protect the politicians from the Russian hackers. About it reports The Mirror.
Intelligence officials have taken steps to enhance security after it was discovered that the accounts of some members of Parliament were allegedly hacked. It is noted that the MPs who suffered from the actions of the hackers, banned the use of any gadgets as long as they are not protected. In addition, the “victims” of foreign cyberattacks was forbidden to tell anyone about the incident.
In October last year, the British foreign Secretary Jeremy hunt has accused Russian military intelligence of organizing cyber attacks and promised together with its allies to respond to them. In late September, the UK announced the creation of cybertrade to deter Russia.
In turn, Russian Deputy foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov has warned that Moscow is ready to reflect the cyber attacks from the UK and give them a hard answer. However, he noted that he knew nothing about possible action from London.
