Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow will not withdraw from the Treaty on open skies in the case that it makes the United States. He reported this “news”.
Ryabkov said that Russia will not accept “mirror”. Also, the Deputy head said that Moscow doubts about Washington’s plans to leave the agreement. However, in the case of the US withdrawal from the Treaty, Russian agencies will consider various options for response.
The diplomat added that the agreement is an important element stabilizing “a process” and expressed hope that the United States will not be released from the agreement.
At the end of October it was reported the US plans to withdraw from the Treaty on open skies. The President of the United States Donald trump signed the document, but the final decision was not made.
The open skies Treaty is an international agreement in 1992. It enables participating countries to make the inspection circled each other, watching thereby of the military and the observance of existing treaties in the field of arms control.
