In 2020 cellular communication in Russia can rise at least 10 percent. This is reported by “Izvestia”.
According to analysts, operators will raise the price of communication services to compensate for losses due to failure from roaming within the country. Also, the company expects to reimburse the costs of the implementation of “Spring package” and the cost of equipment for the modernization of networks, which are usually buy for the currency.
Experts note that the Russians began to consume more traffic and to increase spending on mobile Internet. This leads to the fact that operators increase the cost of archival tariffs by an average of 30 percent and open more expensive tariff plans with a large volume of the included traffic.
A survey conducted by Telecom Daily, shows that the majority of Russians already feeling the rising costs of mobile communications. This was stated by 74% of respondents.
Representatives of Tele2 and VimpelCom (“Beeline”) told the publication that he does not plan to raise rates and will monitor the situation on the market.
At the end of 2018, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the abolition of national roaming in Russia. The law came into force on 1 June 2019. Now the region in which the user is located does not affect the cost of services.
From 1 July 2018, Internet companies and Telecom operators are obliged to keep the correspondence of users within six months. Previously, providers had to store only information about the facts of reception, transmission, delivery and processing of voice information and messages. After the entry into force of new amendments of the law, called the “Spring package”, a company must keep the content of messages, images, video and audio. All of this information is necessary to provide on-demand security services.
