Streaming service Disney+ added to the number of cartoons a warning that they may contain “outdated cultural images”. This writes Mashable.

Ads, in particular, appeared in the animated film “Dumbo”, “Lady and the Tramp”, “the aristocats” and “the jungle Book”. The cartoons had earlier been criticized due to the presence in them of racist stereotypes. In particular, in “Lady and the Tramp” unacceptable considered the song the Siamese cats si and Am, whose images called “colonial terror.”

Some Twitter users noted that the concept of “outdated cultural images” is not precise enough points to racist stereotypes in the pictures. They felt more correct the decision of The Studio Warner Brothers, which in these paintings warns that “such images were false then and remain false now.”

In may it became known that the remake of the cartoon “Lady and the Tramp” removed, the song Siamese cats.
