The US President Donald trump has offered Turkey a bargain at $ 100 billion and the way to resolve the situation with sanctions over the purchase of Russian anti-aircraft systems. About it writes The Washington Post.
The sources claim that the proposal to improve relations between the two countries was contained in a letter sent last week to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In exchange for this proposal, Ankara has to reconsider its policy in Syria and to resolve the issue of C-400 in favor of the United States.
The interlocutors of the newspaper suggesting that some of the opponents trump in the house of representatives of the United States “will be outraged” by suggestions from the White house. Earlier, the lawmakers supported the imposition of sanctions against Turkey for its military operation in Syria.
On 23 October it became known that Turkey has received all of the elements of s-400 earlier than planned and is discussing with Russia for more supplies.
A contract to supply Ankara four battalions of s-400 “Triumph” in Russia was signed in September 2017. The value of the contract amounted to $ 2.5 billion, half the amount will cover the Russian loan. Supply air defense systems to Turkey began in July 2019.
The American side has repeatedly warned Turkey about the inadmissibility of purchases of Russian weapons. The US and other NATO countries fear that the s-400 can track the American fifth generation fighter F-35 Lightning II, which was to receive the Turkish side. Washington has suspended the supply of about 100 fighters in Ankara.
