Died legendary Russian firefighter

In Moscow at the age of 62 years, he left the life of legendary firefighter Viktor Klimkin. It is reported TASS with reference to the all-Russian voluntary fire society (VDPO).

A spokesman said that Klimkin died on Saturday, November 16, due to cardiac arrest.

Viktor Klimkin worked in fire protection for over 40 years.

In 1996, he was appointed Deputy commander-chief of staff of the office of the state fire service of the Moscow police Department. Representatives of the organization argue that Moscow colleagues, he became a legend during his lifetime.

Klimkin occupied a post of the first Deputy head of the Main Department of EMERCOM in Moscow at the state fire service. Under his leadership, was extinguished, hundreds of complex capital fires, for example, at the Izmailovo Vernisage and in the Cherkizovsky market. He was personally involved in major rescue operations, including, in the collapse of the Basmanny market and the water Park “Transvaal-Park”.

In 2007 Klimkin was awarded the title “Honorary firefighter of Moscow”. From 2011 to 2014 he was head of the VNII fire defense MOE, and by 2016 led by the Department of supervision and preventive work of EMERCOM of Russia.

Representatives of all-Russia voluntary fire society said that Klimkin’s death is an irreparable loss to all firefighters in Russia.
