President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has announced his intention to run for the presidency in 2020. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
However, he noted that it doesn’t hold the “blue fingers” for the presidency, but the Belarusians should reject his candidacy. According to him, presidential elections are likely to take place in the summer of 2020.
Earlier, the Belarusian leader said it has no plans to change the country’s Constitution presidential elections to be held in 2020. However, he noted that it is possible, but haste in this matter is unacceptable.
Last presidential elections in Belarus took place in October of 2015. Lukashenko won the election with a twenty-fold gap from the nearest competitor.
