President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Moscow should compensate Minsk for at least half of the cost for the protection of the joint border. On Sunday, November 17, reports “Interfax”.
He recalled that, when this week it was heard the report of the border Agency, the focus was on the agreement with Russia on the protection of the state border. According to him, it does not require any additional injections, but would like to offset at least half the current cost.
Lukashenko added that he was “not an accountant” and is not going to count how many countries need each other, but Minsk will name a specific amount. “It is expensive”, — he concluded.
November 14, Lukashenko proposed to calculate the cost of all services that the Republic is having Russia. In his opinion, this has to be done before the next stage of negotiations on integration of the two countries. “Everything needs to be put on the table and show: elder brothers-Russians, you will see what services we provide, and it is not cheap,” said he. The Belarusian leader also urged Russia “not to blather in the media and even at the state level that the Belarusians — the weight on the feet.”
