The cooperation of the International monetary Fund (IMF) and Ukraine will end in 2023 after the implementation of the program, which the parties need to agree. About such ambitious plans, said Finance Minister Oksana Markarova during an interview with TV channel “Gromadske”.
This program emphasized Markarova, will allow to carry out reforms, privatization and concession, so that in four years Ukraine will not need new loans from the IMF.
The Fund’s representatives arrived in Ukraine on November 14. The last time they worked in the Republic in September, and then the negotiations did not lead to any result.
One of the main problems, the media called the situation around the PrivatBank. Creditors suspect the current authorities of Ukraine in their desire to compromise with the former owner of the Bank Igor Kolomoisky oligarch and compensate him for the loss. Edition of the Wall Street Journal reported that the IMF has frozen work with Ukraine, but the government denied this information.
Privat nationalized under President Petro Poroshenko in 2016. Since then, Kolomoisky is trying to prove the illegality of this decision. In turn, the Ukrainian authorities accuse him of withdrawal and want to make amends. The current head of state Vladimir Zelensky associated with Kolomoisky, so lenders fear of collusion. Zelensky himself admits that the state may lose Kolomoisky in court, but claims that he is to affect a situation cannot. The President recognizes the influence of the situation on the international support of Ukraine.
