Ukraine’s Supreme court upheld the expulsion of a leader of the Ukrainian party “new force” of Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian territory to Poland in February 2018. About it reports a press-service of the court on his page in Facebook.
The Supreme court dismissed the appeal Saakashvili about recognition illegal and cancellation of the decision on his expulsion. It is reported that the judge upheld the decisions of courts of previous instances in which the ex-President of Georgia was also denied his claims.
In October, the Chief military Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings according to the statement of Saakashvili about his kidnapping of the Ukrainian security forces in February 2018.
According to policy, employees of the State border service of Ukraine, expelled him outside the country, acting under the personal direction of then President Petro Poroshenko. On the territory of Poland ex-President of Georgia was made according to the Agency statement on readmission.
In may 2015, Poroshenko gave the Georgian policy of the Ukrainian citizenship, and appointed him Governor of Odessa region. This position, Saakashvili held a year and a half, then moved in opposition to the previous President. In the summer of 2017, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of citizenship, and in February of 2018 Ukrainian security services detained him, were expelled from the country and banned until 2021. Ukraine’s new President Vladimir Zelensky has restored the citizenship of Saakashvili. The politician returned to Ukraine on may 29.
