The authorities of Krasnodar region are considering launching electric trains between the Kuban and the Crimea. This was announced by the Governor of the region Veniamin Kondratiev, reports on Friday, November 22, TASS.
“Why not?” — he answered a question about the likelihood of the introduction of such a route, stressing that the initiative is still in the development stage and its price is “high enough”. Kondratyev said that the idea can be implemented through a public-private partnership.
According to the Governor, the active transport between the regions, which, according to him, are “one large black sea resort of Russia” will contribute to attracting tourists. “We must create conditions to increase the quality of services,” he said.
On 19 November Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov reported to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the enormous demand for railway tickets in Crimea, and added that as a result of active of online shopping having problems with the website of the shipping company.
Tickets for trains to Crimea have become available to buy November 8th. They can be purchased at the railway ticket office or on the official website of the operator. The first train from St. Petersburg to the Peninsula will leave 23 December, and from Moscow — on December 24. The cost starts from 2 966 rubles.
In addition, it became known that the list of cities from which trains running on the Peninsula, expand. In particular the possibility of launching in the Republic of the trains from Kislovodsk, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg and Murmansk.
