Russia has launched a “banned” US satellite

Russian Ministry of defense launched into orbit the satellite inspector, reports RIA Novosti.

Start rocket “Soyuz-2.1 b” spacecraft (SC) occurred on the night of 26 November from the Plesetsk cosmodrome (Arkhangelsk region). The defense Ministry says that the KA is created on the basis of a unified multifunctional space platform and optical instrumentation on Board allows the imaging of the surface of the Earth.

In July, the United States suggested to impose a ban on approaching any important American satellites other satellites at a certain distance, for example 50 miles in the case of a geosynchronous orbit.

In April 2018, the Center for strategic and international studies (USA) has published a report “Evaluation of space threats — 2018”, in which the main countries that potentially have different kind of leverage over the American satellites, called China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
