In Russia initiated a mandatory animal identification using microchips and tattoos. This is reported by “Izvestia”.
The Ministry of agriculture said that the bill was drafted and submitted for consideration to the government Commission, and then submitted to the Duma. It is clarified that the identification list should include dogs and cats, small cattle, fur-bearing animals, bees, fish and “other aquatic animals” as well as poultry, pigs, camels, deer, horses, Asses, mules and hinnies. It is expected that this procedure will be free.
“When adopting the law on the humane treatment of animals, the theme identification is one of the main. Today everyone understands that it is necessary”, — said Vice-speaker of the state Duma Olga Timofeeva in an interview with the publication. She explained that people need to understand what the animals are sterilized and non-hazardous, which contained the house, and some at the shelter.
Initiative on the marking of animals was offered in February 2019. The introduction of labelling will allow experts to more quickly identify sources and outbreaks of certain diseases of cattle. The question of financing remains open.
