The Kremlin is not preparing a meeting with the heads of sports federations on the question of possible sanctions against the Russian athletes, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. It is quoted by TASS on Tuesday, November 26.
Earlier Tuesday, owned by Grigory Berezkin the RBC with reference to the head of the Federation of ski races of Russia Elena Vyalbe, said that the meeting will be held on November 28. According to the publication, the parties will discuss the recommendations of the Committee for compliance with the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).
On 25 November it became known that the Committee on correspondence recommended that the WADA Executive Committee to suspend Russia from participation in international competitions for four years. This issue will be discussed on 9 December.
In case of the removal of Russia from the competition athletes will be able to compete at the Olympic games in 2020 only under a neutral flag. In addition, Russia may ban, has hosted international competitions.
Russian athletes have already competed under the neutral flag during the Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang. Then, because of the doping scandal, the Olympic Committee of Russia (OKR) was disqualified.
