The President of the United States Donald trump is planning to call the pardoned war criminals to help him in the election campaign 2020. Reported by the Daily Beast.
According to the portal, some of the pardoned soldiers, previously accused of war crimes, can help Trump in the presidential election of 2020. They want to attract as special guests in his election campaign. Among these possible participants the names of Clint Laurens, Matthew Holstine and Edward Gallagher.
Lieutenant Clint lorance in 2013 was sentenced to 19 years in prison. He was accused that he ordered his soldiers to open fire on three unarmed Afghans (as a result, two of them died). Laurens pardoned 15 Nov.
The special forces major Matthew Holsten had to stand trial for the murder of another unarmed Afghan. Holsten did not admit his guilt.
Edward Gallagher in early July was found not guilty of a war crime — the murder of a wounded prisoner of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG banned in Russia) in 2017, and in the case of the deliberate shelling of civilians. At the same time, he was considered guilty of illegal posing in the picture with the dead gunman. At the end of proceedings the military has been demoted and stripped of some benefits.
I believe that because of the pardon Gallagher yesterday, 25 November, was dismissed the chief of the naval forces (Navy) of the United States Richard Spencer. The Secretary of defense mark Esper was allegedly asked to dismiss the head of the Navy after his secret requests not to intervene in the case of Gallagher in exchange for a voluntary withdrawal of the last of the seal retaining the title.
It is emphasized that despite the fact that right-wing media have presented these soldiers as martyrs persecuted by political correctness, their clemency is considered controversial step, even in the eyes of the supporters of the trump.
