Experts say that exercise helps to reduce the risk of an incurable brain disease and other types of dementia by 50 percent, and help to slow the development of incipient disease. Exercise stimulates the brain to maintain old neural pathways and create new ones, and increase the number of protective neurotransmitters. “One of the three cases of Alzheimer’s can be prevented through lifestyle changes,” say the experts.
Into rospotrebnazdore indicated that people aged 65 and over should pay at least 150 minutes a week exercise of moderate intensity, or 75 minutes a week aerobic classes with high intensity. Each activity must last for at least 10 minutes.
In addition to protecting the brain, exercise helps older people to restore sleep and reduce anxiety, said the Agency.
