The authorities of the Russian regions have provided false information about the decline in the number of accident-prone areas on the roads. About it it became known according to results of quality control carried out by the audit chamber, reported owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC.
For example, in Yaroslavl Metropolitan area, according to 2018, and the emergency sections are missing. While according to estimates of the traffic referenced by the auditors, there were 40 such sites. In addition, in Ulan-Ude agglomeration, the accident rate increased by 194 percent, while the regional authorities spoke about the decline of 76 percent. The growing number of accidents, said the chamber has increased in Primorsky region and in the Volgograd and Omsk regions.
In some cases, when planning repairs on the roads, not all contracts were for activities associated with ensuring safety. This is indicated by the chamber can serve as a prerequisite for the emergence of new places of concentration of road accident. In particular, in 2017 and 2018, more than a third of accidents were caused by such abuses.
