A tax on the transit of oil and oil products through the territory of Belarus can bring to the budget nearly $ 100 million. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the representative of the press service of the Belarusian Finance Ministry.
The Ministry clarified that this amount consists of the increase of the profit tax from 18 to 50 per cent and environmental taxes. The latter, emphasized in the Ministry of Finance has nothing to do with the negotiations about the supply of Russian oil to Moscow.
Earlier in January, the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko has imposed a tax for organizations that are engaged in the transportation of oil and petroleum products in the country. It is planned that the money will go to create a source of funds for elimination of ecological consequences of possible accidents in oil pipelines or other unforeseen circumstances that are associated with transit fuel.
