Residents self-proclaimed Donetsk national Republic (DND) began to detain in the absence of passports of the breakaway state. Ukrainian passport is no longer sufficient for identification, reports “Apostrophe”.

The publication drew attention to the social networks, in particular, the residents of Donetsk, who began to talk about such cases after the new year. One of townswomen Svetlana confirmed to reporters that the arrest actually began with the 1st of January, stop mostly young men. According to “Apostrophe”, the new rules can be a source of bribes for the police but also to encourage people to get passports DNR and Russia. According to local residents, the queue at immigration is painted for some months forward.

At the end of 2019, the head of DNR Denis Pushilin has denied rumors that from the beginning of 2020, the authorities will suspend social payments to citizens not issued a passport of the unrecognized Republic or Russia. Information about the cancellation benefits began to circulate in the autumn.

In September, the Ministry of internal Affairs DND reported that Russian passports under the simplified procedure received more than 20.5 thousand residents, the documents filed more than 43 thousand.
