Germany, France and the United Kingdom thanked Russia and China for efforts to maintain a Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) on Iran, which the country remains without nuclear weapons. Joint statement of foreign ministries of the three countries published on the website of the German foreign Ministry.
“We are grateful to the Russian Federation and China, with whom we remain in close contact, because they joined our joint efforts to preserve a nuclear agreement with Iran,” the document says countries in Europe. The text also notes that at the time of worsening relations between Tehran and Washington, it is important to prevent the termination of this transaction.
Earlier in January, Iran announced the final rejection of agreements AGREEMENT regarding its nuclear program. Tehran out of the nuclear deal, saying that will have no restrictions in terms of production, including enrichment capacity, the percentage and amount of enriched uranium.
SPUD on Iran was signed between Tehran and the six countries-mediators, including Russia, UK, USA, France, Germany and China. The agreement includes the lifting of sanctions against Iran in exchange for curbing its nuclear program. In may 2018 the US President Donald trump announced the country’s withdrawal from the transaction and the renewal of restrictive measures against Iran that include a ban on trade in oil.
