Game Grand Theft Auto 4 was gone from the digital store Steam. The developers of the project explained her disappearance from the sale problems with Windows services, reports The Verge.
Rockstar Games announced that GTA IV has disappeared from Steam because Games for Windows Live, as they were originally released for use with this service. Since Microsoft no longer supports the project, Rockstar can’t generate keys for new users wishing to purchase the licensed version of GTA IV.
The game developers promised that in the near future will figure out how to continue to sell Grand Theft Auto 4 online. According to the publication PC Gamer, Rockstar intends to sell GTA IV exclusively through its play store, without intermediaries.
Journalists believe that the cause of the disappearance of GTA IV could be to expired licensing agreements between Rockstar and Microsoft. As an example, they recalled the story with another game in the series, GTA: Vice City, which also disappeared with digital platforms in 2012.
Grand Theft Auto IV — action-adventure with open world, released in April 2008. For the record result in sales in its first week of release the game was included in the Guinness Book of records.
