Russian Railways will become the first state-owned company, to purchase computers based on the Russian processor “Elbrus”. The deal will be the largest in the market of domestic computers, writes Cnews.
The tender was published on the procurement website 30 Dec 2019. Applications from candidates will be accepted until January 23, the auction is scheduled for February 5. The contractor shall convey the equipment to the customer until may 25. Railways are willing to spend on the computers of 1.08 billion rubles.
A customer needs to supply 15 thousand computers running on processors “Elbrus” and a Russian Linux-based OS. The documents noted that the pre-installed operating system must be listed in the national registry at the Ministry of communications. The composition of the procurement unit will include the system unit, a monitor with a display diagonal of 23.8 inches, keyboard, mouse, power cables. The maximum price set is limited to 72 thousand rubles.
The publication notes that it will be the largest purchase of computers for domestic processors. The geography of deliveries covers 230 units of Russian Railways, including the Directorate of railway stations, communications, passenger facilities, control centers telecommunications resources, administrative centers and other organizations.
Cnews emphasizes that before the advent of the tender on the mass use of processors “Elbrus” was known only in the ministries and departments, including the Ministry of internal Affairs and communications Ministry.
