A large-scale operation to arrest Islamist radicals from Chechnya in Germany began because of the pictures of the synagogue in September 2019 on the phone made one of the detainees. About it reports on Wednesday, January 15, The Berlin Spectator.

On the eve it became known about the arrest of several Islamist radicals from Chechnya because of the suspicion of planning “a large terrorist act.” About 180 police officers conducted searches at six locations in Berlin, Brandenburg, Hagen and Arnstadt. It is specified that the alleged offenders followed for some time.
During the searches, police seized cash, a piercing-cutting weapons and information carriers.
In 2016, the German intelligence agencies carried out searches in 12 apartments and one dormitory, where lived natives of Chechnya, requesting asylum in Germany. They are suspected of financing of terrorism.
