Russia may adopt amendments to the Constitution proposed by the head of state Vladimir Putin, without a referendum. This was stated by the Chairman of the Central election Commission (CEC), Ella Pamfilova, reports “Interfax”.
In her opinion, for this purpose is better will approach other forms of public discussion. “Based on what the President said, I don’t think it comes to a referendum. (…) It will still be a discussion for which a referendum is not required — likely”, — said the CEC head.
Earlier, the CEC issued a statement which noted that the vote regarding the amendment of the Constitution of Russia can be organized in 2020. Such a development is possible, subject to operational decisions question about the format of the people’s will and the availability of formulated questions.
